4-24-2006 Daily Stock Pick Results

Not exactly how I wanted to start my day back but today was not pretty. There was little volume & little volatility out there today. Luckily for me, I did take windfall ANGO profit that was offered in the first 1/2 hour so i wasn’t in it when it reveresed hard later on in the day.

Hopefully the market will shape up better for me tomorrow. I really do like the functionality of TradeStation and will slowly be switching over to purely playing the Futures market for daytrades and using the stock market for swing setups. More on that when I have some more time.

Well I’m finally back and able to continue on with my daily stock picks. It took me a little longer to get the new account up and running than I anticipated. Then I had to try and figure out how to set up my TradeStation workspace. And while it is still a work in progress I am at least at a point where I can resume my daily routine as far as picking stocks is concerned. I’ll update you later as to what I’m working on and the changes that I’ll likely be implementing.

Also, you’ll note above that the “Setup” column is different now. I’m trying to become more structured in my stock picks and be more specific as to the reasons why I think a particular stock will go up or down beyond just “Breakaway” or “Fade”. So you’ll be seeing a lot of different phrases here in the days and weeks to come and I will do my best to explain what they all mean.

In the mean time just know that unless there is a number in the “On Open” column, that the stock is to be bought only on a breakout/breakdown from the specified price. Today, NABI is the only play that calls for being purchased on Open for between 6.47-6.59.

Good luck today and wish me the same. This’ll be my first full day of trading with TS and as they don’t allow for simulated order entry to learn the platform, I’m just hoping to be able to keep software/order problems to a minimum.

Free Internet Security Suite

Kudos again to Huber Senters over at TradeTheMarkets.com for finding this great deal on ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite.

For a little about ZoneAlarm you can watch this Short Video.

But basically it is an Anti Virus-Spam-Spyware suite that purportedly runs smoother and more effectively than Norton and McAfee. Amazon is running a special right now where you can get it for free via a couple of Mail-in rebates. I wish I had known about this product a couple of months ago before I bought a 2-year update on my Norton Security Suite but I plan on getting a new trading system in the not-so-distant future and will be switching over to ZoneAlarm per the many great things I have heard about it.

Quick Update,

I am still waiting on my Tradestation account to open. Should be up either today or tomorrow at the latest. Then I’ll have a lot of programing to contend with but come hell or high water I don’t want to miss Friday’s action for the world as I’m expecting a nice rally.

How to save $300

For any of you who took my advice and checked out TradeTheMarkets.com you may have happened accross the “Indicators” page which has some very informative videos pertaining to the indicators that Hubert & Carter use to help track the market.

One of the best indicators they have there is the TTM Squeeze Indicator. Click Here to see the video about it. Anyway, since I should be getting access to my Tradestation account tomorrow, I wanted to see what I might be about to find out there on the internet simulating the TTM Indicator so I could save myself the $300 that TTM is charging for the code on their website.

This afternoon I hit paydirt with this Thread in the support/forum pages at Tradesation.com. About a third of the way down you will see a picture of what looks like the TTM Squeeze indicator but is actually the _BBSqueeze indicator. Notice anything interesting? The two are exactly the same!

So if you have Tradestation, save yourself the money and use the _BBSqueeze Indicator instead. You can Download it Here.

Looks like I’ve missed quite an interesting period in the markets over the past few days. Good thing about trading (Though it is easy to forget) is that there will always be a myriad of opportunities tomorrow if we simply are patient and let the day come.
