3-27-2006 Daily Stock Picks Results

Well I deviated from my plan a little bit today to try something slightly different. In hindsight I picked a bad day to try such a stunt since this is an FOMC week & it would be hard to determine whether or not the results are due to that or to the change… I think I’ll just go back to my plan & experiment on the side away from the blog.

FRE did had a great push in the morning then kuputzed after the first hour. I actually closed it out with a slight profit due to my rule about taking windfalls within the first 1.5 hours but it has to go down as a loss here until I codify the rules I use to close such plays out.

KWK was actually a scratch since it hit the stop price before triggering…just caught that, so that improves things a bit…I didn’t play it in my real portfolio today anyway

I’ve got my eye on NABI for a good swing entry but the DT didn’t work today

TPX is another one of those plays that dropped pretty far in the morning as to make me take it off my watch-list once it broke yesterday’s low. So I didn’t play it in real life, but again, I don’t believe I have that rule codified yet so I have to include it as a loss here.

You can bet I’ll be packing tomorrow morning & may do some scalping in the afternoon after the FOMC release. Thus I may or may not have any picks for tomorrow FYI.

Today could go in either direction so I’m going to remain very flexible this morning but be aware that there is a good chance the markets are on FOMC-watch & will become more & more dull at the day goes on…

Which remindes me, that I will most likely be taking tomorrow off to get some last-minute packing done. My wife & I are moving this weekend so I will be taking the latter part of this week & beginning part of next week off.

3-24-2006 Daily Stock Pick Results

Today was the 2nd best day I’ve had since starting the new system. AIG was the only real dissapointment but I suppose I was pushing my luck with the Higher High & 50% retracement, it could only go but so much farther down.

EMKR could have bee ridden until the E.O.D. for about double the gain, but I missed the afternoon breakout after cashing out at 9.74. EMKR was my first call on Traderscue.com today, but for those of you lucky enough to find my blog, you get it for free :)

Not much more to say really today except for that I hope the followthrough continues into next week.

3-23-2006 Daily Stock Pick Results

Well it finally seems as if I might finally be getting this system back up to optimal mode. I think that after the first couple weeks of trading I started to push my luck & test for boundaries by looking for more & more trades. It bit me in the behind & delivered the string of losses I had last week & Monday. I’m trying to cut back to just the essentials & it seems to be working, but time will tell.

AAI delivered the only full stop today. Was a good setup, but just decided it wanted to reverse…oh well WCI & WGO more than make up for it.

LFUS & BBY were again 2 solid picks that just did an about-face on me. Overall, I am feeling more & more confident in my chart-reading ability with this new system.

I just discovered a new resource today http://www.traderscue.com where you can browse & subscribe to peoples selections. I haven’t really checked out other people’s systems since I do my own analysis and find that other people’s views seem to just throw me off of my game. Grant it, my game isn’t always at 100% but at least this way, when I’m wrong I know why I’m wrong and have no-one to blame but myself. I’m thinking of starting to post some intra-day picks on Traderscue but i’ll have to do some more looking into it to see how much time it takes since my attention is pretty used up throughout the trading day.
